Most collective agreements contain an authorization on shift work applying to a part or all workers of a company. A shift differential is paid for work carried out during the period from 16:00 hours (from 17:00 hours at restaurants and hotels) to 08:00 hours and on weekends (2015). Overtime is paid for work in excess of 40 hours average per week as shift work.
